The Youth Corps program is 6 weeks long, with 5 weeks of volunteer work and 1 week of touring.
During the first week of the program, Youth Corps participants spend time traveling throughout Armenia and Nagorno- Karabakh, visiting historic sights and connecting with the local population. They also experience exciting and off-the-beaten path adventures. Participants will get to know Yerevan and can expect to visit such traditional sites as Garni, Geghart, Lake Sevan, Echmiadzin, Dzidzernagapert, and Sardarabad, as well as unique destinations like the ancient Monastary at Tatev, Karahoung and other sites throughout Armenia and Nagorno-Karabakh.
The following 5 weeks are spent throughout Armenia and Nagorno-Karabakh operating multiple summer day camps for local underprivileged children. The participants are counselors at these day camps, planning the curriculum, teaching classes, leading activities and serving as a role model for these children.
This combination of touring and volunteer work is perfect for both first time visitors and frequent travelers to Armenia.
