A leading figure in Armenia’s environmental movement was in Los Angeles on December 6th, 2012 speaking at a town hall event about the looming ecological disaster facing Armenia and the rise of a new generation of activists, committed to protecting and preserving their homeland.

Over the last several months, the AYF’s With Our Soldiers (WOS) campaign has been heavily engaged in the medical treatment of dozens of veterans of the Artsakh war throughout Armenia.

The AYF San Fernando Valley “Sardarabad” Chapter with the help of the Homenetmen Massis Chapter hosted a Soccer Tournament on November 17th and 18th. Despite the pouring rain and slippery mud over 40 people participated in this tournament. Dozens of people of all ages came to support the AYF Sardarabad Chapter in their efforts in raising funds for the With Our Soldiers Campaign.

On Thanksgiving Weekend, the Armenian youth will converge in San Francisco for what has become an annual tradition, the 39th Annual AYF Western Region Olympic Games. Members from Fourteen chapters across the Western United States will be competing in Flag Football, Soccer, and Dodgeball tournaments.

Throughout our history, the life of the Armenian soldier has been one of difficulty and resilience. From Avarayr to Sardarabad to Shushi, our heroes have fought and defended our very existence. They have fought with the ideal that no Armenian should be oppressed and no Armenian land should be occupied.
