AYF Members Near Completion of Unprecedented Seminar
GLENDALEMembers of the Armenian Youth Federation, Western Region are nearing the end of their participation in a unique leadership seminar hosted by the Youth Board of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation.
Thus far, participants have completed three of four eight-hour sessions, learning about leadership and management, grassroots activism, media and public relations, ARF ideology and strategic event planning.
The participants were divided in to four groups during the first session and assigned various projects to work on throughout the duration of the seminar. During the final session, to be held on July 27, the guest speakers along with other experts and community leaders will be invited to hear the participants presentation of the results of their projects.
“This was the first major seminar of the Youth Board; I am glad to say that all of our guest speakers have exceeded our expectations and done an excellent job in providing valuable knowledge to the participants, said Melkon Melkonian, a member of the ARF Youth Board.
Guest speakers for the seminar included Mr. Adrin Nazarian, chief of staff for Calif. state assembly member Paul Krekorian; Dr. Razmig Shirinian, professor of political science at College of the Canyons; Steve Artinian, chairman of Homenetmen Western Region and vice president of marketing for Home Organizers, Inc.; Harry Glorikian, founder and president of Scientia Advisors, an international management and strategy consulting firm; and Naush Boghossian, a journalist and former reporter for the Los Angeles Daily News.
The ARF Western Region Youth Board a newly formed entity of the regions Central Committee. One of the primary goals of the board is to offer members of the AYF, ARF Badanegan and Armenian youth at large education, guidance and assistance to become better individuals and better equipped to lead our community.
