2010 AYF Olympics Set for Thanksgiving Weekend
SAN FERNANDO VALLEY, Calif.–The 37th annual AYF Olympics, a long-standing tradition that brings together Armenian-American youth from across the country for a weekend of sports competition, will be held in the San Fernando Valley during Thanksgiving weekend from November. 26 to 28.
The Olympic Games are being hosted by the Armenian Youth Federations San Fernando Valley SardarabadChapter and will take place at the Holy Martyrs Ferrahian High School in the city of Encino (5300 White Oak Ave. Encino, CA 91316).
Activities will begin Friday at 10:00 a.m. and will conclude Saturday Night at the Victory Ball Dinner Dance.
The Olympics are a great way to spend your Thanksgiving weekend along with fellow Armenian-Americans from various parts of the US, said Levon Shant Demirjian, the Sardarabad Chapters Chairman. We are very excited about this years Olympics and are doing everything to make this a memorable experience for everyone involved.
This year, teams will be compete in soccer, basketball and track and field in a bid to win first place in the games.
In addition to the games, social events will also be held throughout the weekend, including a Karaoke night and DJ A2Z on Friday night at Harpers Bar and Grill (5545 Reseda Blvd Tarzana, CA) admission $10 as well as Saturday night Victory Ball at Holy Martyrs Ferrahian High School hall where DJ APE and Sako will be entertaining the crowd $40 for AYF and $50 for the public.
