A gallery of images ranging from those taken during and immediately after the Spitak earthquake to present-day living conditions of those who lost their homes, jobs and livelihoods on December 7, 11:41 a.m., 1988.
Twenty-two years have passed, yet despite the fact that an estimated 500,000 were left homeless, there has been little substantial effort to provide housing and jobs. Living lives significantly below the poverty line, a large portion of the people of Gyumri, Spitak and its neighboring regions are struggling to support their existence and it is long past the time to provide assistance. Despite these harsh realities, the people of Gyumri continue to maintain high spirits but need aid to thrive.
All profits from the photos sold and donations will benefit those directly affected by the earthquake.
Leninakan was ruined, Gyumri survived
