Orange County AYF Hosts Blood Drive; Spreads Armenian Culture
Orange County AYF and the Red Cross came together to host a Blood Drive for the Armenian community at the Harout Barsamian Hall on March 18th from 10am to 4pm. All ages from the community gathered for a great cause and donated their time and blood, ultimately saving numerous lives! The event was a great success! Nora Gourdikian, the head of the social committee and the main coordinator of this great event had a few words to say…
“AYF OC has had the pleasure to host many blood drives over the years and this was one of the most successful ones thus far. We had great support from our local community and were able to donate blood for those in need. Our chapter could not have done it without our community and without the help of the Red Cross recruiter as well as the delightful nurses who were there with us every step of the way. The Red Cross staff was friendly and welcoming. They were fascinated with our Armenian culture and asked all donors questions about the language, geography and even wanted to gain knowledge about local bakeries carrying Armenian baked goods. We couldnt pass up this opportunity to educate the nurses and to recommend our local Jacks Bakery for their lunch break!”
The Orange County AYF chapter will continue to have an annual blood drive due to all the support we received! Thank you all who donated from Orange County AYF!
